Age 83 of Blaine, died peacefully Feb. 23rd with family by his side. Marvin was born in Minot, ND. One of five boys, Marv and his brothers spent much of their time playing sports and running in the hills. On Nov. 2, 1947, Marv married Laurel Christenson of Minot and spent 59 wonderful years together prior to Laurel’s passing in 2006. Like his father before him, Marv was a railroad man working as an accident investigator for the Soo Line. In 1964 with their two children in tow they moved to a great neighborhood in Brooklyn Center making wonderful and lifetime friends. Some of his favorite times were spent at their lake home on Lake Metigoshe in ND and more recently on Lake O’Brien here in MN. Marv will be most remembered as a loving and caring man always placing others’ needs before his own. He enjoyed his time with family and friends, and always entertained us with his stories. Marv was preceded in death by his wife, Laurel; infant son, Steven; grandson, Philip Mumm; and brothers, Robert, Harold, and Roy. Marv found love again when he reconnected with a classmate from Minot High, Valerie Priess, a loving partner and companion. Marv is survived by daughter, Sandra (Mark) Mumm of Madison, WI; son, Joe (Pamela) of Maple Grove; brother, Wayne (Tek) Hauglie of Rockford, IL; grandsons, Neil (Anna Poston) Mumm and Troy (Katie Janaszak) Dorn; and great grandsons, Kobe and Blake. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Memorial Service 11AM Thursday Feb. 28th, Lutheran Church of the Master, 1200 69th Ave. N., Brooklyn Center, with visitation one hour prior to service.
