Obituary for Arliss Kay Schack

Dearly beloved wife of Ernest, mother of Stacy (Mike) Dillon and Judd (Kathleen) Howie, grandmother to Brady, Tyler, Hunter, Brianna, Kaylin, Conor and Cole, passed away on January 5, 2020 at home in the presence of her family.

She was preceded in death by her father Herman Stavang, mother Mae Patterson, siblings Joyce (at birth), Harold, Gordon, Elois Halvorson and Marion Bakken.

Arliss was born in Rugby, North Dakota, and moved to the Minneapolis area in 1963. She began her career with State Farm where she worked until her retirement in 2009. She met Ernie on a blind date at a bowling alley in 1983. He was the love of her life and they married shortly afterwards. Together they raised Stacy and Judd. She was an avid golfer and loved her Vikings! But most of all, Arliss loved spending time with her grandchildren whether it was sporting events or watching Disney movies over and over again! Arliss was a fighter who battled three different kinds of cancer over the last 20 years and won! Her last battle however, was just too much to overcome and she needed peace.

I just can't say enough about the help we received in planning my husband's funeral at the Osseo Evans Nordby funeral home. It was a very difficult time and they were so caring, sensitive, helpful and very organized in making the funeral go smoothly. The funeral home in Osseo felt so welcoming and comfortable also. Tina was extremely helpful in guiding our family with planning the funeral and went out of her way in finding the right memorial folder for my husband. I would highly recommend them. Thank you all.
