Obituary for Dahlia Marie Clifton

Dahlia Marie Clifton

April 5th, 1951 - December 12th, 2025

Born in New Ulm, Minnesota to Luz "Louie" and Virgina Campa; Dahlia was the first of three sets of twins alongside twin brother David.

Dahlia was an adventurous spirit, having visited Greece, Canada, Mexico and much of the U.S.

Dahlia had a variety of hobbies including but not limited to: gardening, music, dancing, Nintendo, Vikings, and cooking delicious Mexican food.

Dahlia first worked for 3M and later Green Giant during the 70s. During this time she put herself through schooling to earn her CNA and TMA certifications. From there, Dahlia worked assisting many people in nursing and private homes.

Dahlia's passion to help people didn't end there. She began her next adventure in the 90s: being a foster parent. Dahlia cared for many children of various ages throughout the years-specifically looking to help teens. Dahlia worked as a school bus driver during this time as well, beginning in the early 2000s.

Due to her caring nature and her constant willingness to support others, many of the relationships Dahlia nurtured continued even to the end of her life.

Dahlia is survived by her spouse, Daniel Clifton; children, Melinda (Joshua) Buttler, Denise (Antonio) Fondren, Marquetta, Margarita, Mercedes Diamond and beloved foster children Laura, Anthony, Gerardo, and far too many to list; her grandchildren, Cierra, Ameriah, Autumn, Noah, Alondra, Roe, Marquise, Antonio Jr., Isaiah, Maddy Jo, Attia, Audriel, Bradley, Malakai, Sapphire, Denise, Dakota, and Skye.

Preceded in death by Son, Patrick; parents, Jose de la Luz "Louie" Campa, Virgina Vallejo Campa; siblings, Paula, Luz Jr., Victoria, Michael, Eleanor and Nicholas (infancy).

Evans-Nordby funeral chapel in Osseo, MN handled my husband’s cremation and Celebration of Life service in July of 2023. I can’t say enough positive things about all aspects of my interactions with them. They reached out to help every step of the way—from planning the Celebration of Life service, the service itself, and after care contact. Brittney was the person I primarily worked with. She was kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, organized, and had great communication skills, which greatly helped in reducing my stress level. I plan to contact Evans-Nordby soon to pre-plan my own final arrangements.
