Obituary for Debi Thraen

Debra “Debi” Thraen, age 65 of Brooklyn Park, passed away on August 19, 2024.

Debi had a beautiful soul known for her passion for reading, watercolor painting, and her adoration for her faithful companion Chimmy, whom she may have loved more than her husband, Andy. Debi's profound love for her family shone brightly throughout her life.

Preceded in death by parents, Eugene & Marion Olson.

Debi will be fondly remembered by her dear husband Andy; her cherished children, Aaron (Amy) and Candi (Adam); grandchildren, Teya, Ayden and Nora; as well as great-grandchildren, Aurora and Amira. She also leaves behind siblings, Shawna, Duane, Denise, Dawn, Dennis, and Dana; along with numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and a multitude of friends who will all deeply miss her.

A Celebration of Life Service to honor Debi's memory will take place on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 11 AM to 2 PM, with food and refreshments served and a heartfelt Prayer Service at 12PM at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center, MN 55429. Evans-Nordby funeral chapel in Osseo, MN handled my husband’s cremation and Celebration of Life service in July of 2023. I can’t say enough positive things about all aspects of my interactions with them. They reached out to help every step of the way—from planning the Celebration of Life service, the service itself, and after care contact. Brittney was the person I primarily worked with. She was kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, organized, and had great communication skills, which greatly helped in reducing my stress level. I plan to contact Evans-Nordby soon to pre-plan my own final arrangements.
