Obituary for DeLaine (Olson) Mork

Age 90 of Brooklyn Center, passed away peacefully on 11/10/20.

She was born on the family farm near Kempton, ND, on 2/22/30. After graduating from Northwood High School and Mayville State Teachers College, she taught in a one-room schoolhouse in western ND and at elementary schools in Grand Forks, ND, and Anoka, MN.

She and Odean Mork were married at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Dakota on 7/6/58 and raised four children. Children were at the center of her heart, whether it was teaching Sunday School at Lutheran Church of the Master or smothering her grandchildren with love and affection. She always had a smile for everyone and enough love to give wherever she thought it was needed.

DeLaine is survived by her beloved husband, Odean; children Cindy Traub, Collette Mork, Randy Mork, and Phil (Rachel) Mork; grandchildren Amy (Jake) Kershaw, Brandon, Arianna, and Sophia Mork, and Sara and Katie Traub.

She was preceded in death by parents Ingeborg and Gunder Olson and siblings Mervin (Esther) Olson, Adeline (Arnold) Larson, and Ione (John) Mark. She will be dearly missed.

Memorials preferred to Lutheran Church of the Master in Brooklyn Center, www.lcmonline.net.

A private family service was held at Evans-Nordy Funeral Home, www.evansnordby.com. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

It is a place of compassion, sincerity, professionalism, and staff who go above and beyond their call of duty. Our family has sadly used both chapels over the past months. The caring did not stop after the services. They offer their continued compassion to adults and children. With grateful hearts thank you.
