Lovingly known as Grandma Dee, age 87, passed away on March 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Maple Grove, MN.
Dee was born in Warwick, ND on August 29, 1937. She also lived in New Rockford, ND, Minot, ND, and in 1965 moved to Minnesota. She earned her high school diploma in 1955 at St. Leo’s High School in Minot, ND. Dee was blessed with 2 children, Melanie (Rick) Teschendorf and Michael Davis. As a single mother, she used her education and skills in bookkeeping and interior design to support her 2 children. She embraced her deep faith and was a devoted member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Brooklyn Park, MN. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and a loyal friend to the “Dancing Grandmas” which eventually as time and age took hold, became a loving card playing group of devoted friends for many years.
Dee could be counted on to be the family historian with her excellent memory and story telling skills. She is also famously known for her doll cakes, cheesecake and delicious spaghetti and meatballs, which she shared lovingly with her family and friends. Born into a very large family, she was a great organizer of many large family reunions as well as celebrations for her mother’s birthday and significant life events.
