Don Roy Mattson, age 88 of Osseo, passed away on Jan. 22, 2020. Don graduated from Patrick Henry in 1949 and attended MN School of Business. He was employed by International Harvester for 30 years. He was a US Navy Veteran. Don, being a child of God, was a longtime member of Brookdale Covenant Church. He was given two gifts, the gift of music which he used by singing in choirs as well as being a soloist for funerals; and the gift of gab, because he was quite a talker and conversed with everyone he met. Don is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Susan; children, Jennifer Mattson & fiancé, Bruce Lau, Paul (Amy) Mattson; his beloved grandchildren, Claire (5) & Grant (2); and brother, Jon Mattson; as well as other family & friends. Visitation from 4-6PM Wednesday, Jan 29, 2020, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 2nd St. NE, Osseo. Funeral Service 11AM Thursday, Jan 30, 2020, at Brookdale Covenant Church, 5139 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service at church Thursday. Interment at Crystal Lake Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Brookdale Covenant Church.

Our son recently passed away and of course you never expect to have to deal with this for your children so my wife and I were not only devastated but didn’t know what to do or where to turn next.
