Obituary for Esther O. Braget

Esther Braget, born to Peder & Ella (Handeland) Roragen on March 9, 1940 passed away February 21, 2021.

Survived by her long-time companion Charlie Peltier; daughters Brenda (Wade) Haugen, and Denise Bohlmann; grandchildren Jesse (Allison), Alex (Sophie), and Diane; sister Pearl Uhlir; & the extended Roragen, Braget & Peltier families; & many other dear family and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband Eugene (Butch) Braget, and brothers Ernest & Ervin.

She grew up on a farm near Bejou, MN. Attended Bejou School & graduated from Mahnomen High School. In 1959, she married Eugene (aka Gene or Butch) Ivan Braget. Gene & Esther resided and raised the girls in Crystal, MN. Gene passed away in 2002

Esther worked for Target in Crystal, MN & retired after 39 years of service.

She met boyfriend Charlie Peltier in 2004. For several years they resided in Esther’s home in Crystal, Charlie’s Brainerd cabin, & wintered in Donna, TX.

Besides her family, she deeply loved her Pomeranian dog, Ginger.

Some of her favorite hobbies included playing cards with family and friends, ballroom & square dancing, cooking and eating lutefisk at Christmas-time, canning, making krum-kake & rosettes, camping and traveling. She enjoyed doing the crypto-gram puzzle with Lucille, country music & watching birds, especially cardinals.

Her Norwegian heritage was her pride & joy. She & Gene loved their ancestry tour to Norway. She said “uff-da” frequently.

Memorials preferred to Gianna Homes or Brighton Hospice.
