Evelyn is survived by her husband, Loren; son, Marvin Kinghorn; daughters, Pat (Gerald) Mueller and Bev Folwarski; as well as granddaughters, Jennifer (Scott) Koenig,Jaime (Chris) Goller, Suzanne (Ryan) Spencer, Kelley Green, Lindsey (Travis) Morin, and Bethany Folwarski; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Logan Spencer; Maxwell, Owen, Weston Green; Andrew, Lucas, Bradley, Elleanna Morin.

Preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Blanche Gray; brothers, Wesley Gray and Howard Gray; son-in-law, Jerry Folwarski; and daughter-in-law, Rose Kinghorn.

Evie was an incredibly hard worker and wore many hats throughout her life, including fastest potato picker and coolest grandma. She always stayed busy and in addition to farming she cashiered at the grocery store, was the bookkeeper for Loren’s business, was a restaurant owner, a waitress, a cook at the high school, and the best wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Evie enjoyed gardening, loved playing cards, never said no to a cup of coffee and a pastry. She enjoyed good conversation and many laughs. Her granddaughters and great grandchildren brought her the most joy.

Evie was a lifelong member of Brooklyn United Methodist Church. We know this isn’t goodbye, God will be with us until we meet again.

Special thanks to the staff at Guardian Angels By The Lake in Elk River and to Triniti Hospice in Elk River for the wonderful love and care.

Evans-Nordby funeral chapel in Osseo, MN handled my husband’s cremation and Celebration of Life service in July of 2023. I can’t say enough positive things about all aspects of my interactions with them. They reached out to help every step of the way—from planning the Celebration of Life service, the service itself, and after care contact. Brittney was the person I primarily worked with. She was kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, organized, and had great communication skills, which greatly helped in reducing my stress level. I plan to contact Evans-Nordby soon to pre-plan my own final arrangements.
