Francis E. Noonan, age 87, of Brooklyn Center, passed way September 20, 2023, just 8 days short of his 88th birthday.
Francis was born and raised in Minneapolis. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. In 1962, he married Joan in Stratford WI. They moved to Brooklyn Center and started their family. He retired from NSP after working there for over 40 years.
At the age of 18, Francis joined the Knights of Columbus and later became a Grand Knight. In 1995, he joined the Boy Scouts of America and really enjoyed working with the scouts.
He is survived by wife, Joan; daughter, Melissa; puppy, Sampson; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Catherine Troup, Eleanor Reinhart, and Marge Reid.
Visitation 4-7 PM Monday, 9/25/23, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Center, and 1 hour prior to mass at church. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Tuesday, 9/26/23, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 7025 Halifax Ave. N., Brooklyn Center. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Evans-Nordby funeral chapel in Osseo, MN handled my husband’s cremation and Celebration of Life service in July of 2023. I can’t say enough positive things about all aspects of my interactions with them. They reached out to help every step of the way—from planning the Celebration of Life service, the service itself, and after care contact. Brittney was the person I primarily worked with. She was kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, organized, and had great communication skills, which greatly helped in reducing my stress level.
