Gilbert George Weber, age 96 of Brooklyn Center, passed away peacefully August 9, 2024. Gilbert was born on February 21,1928 in Rogers, MN to Charles and Henrietta (nee Hagel) Weber. He attended school at St. Walburga's in Fletcher, MN and worked on his family's farm before enlisting in the United States Army. He married LaVerne (nee Greeninger) at St. Walburga's Catholic Church on September 9, 1953. He was a dedicated member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for 65 years. The majority of those years he served as an usher at the Saturday evening Mass and volunteered in a variety of other ministries. Gilbert was an extremely hard worker. He and LaVerne instilled this quality in their three children. In his career he was a route driver for Franklin Creamery, Ewald Dairy, and American Linen. Following his retirement he was a special needs school bus driver for the Osseo School District. He earned many awards for his safe driving. He continued to drive school bus until the age of 85. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, volunteering, and playing cards. In his leisure time Gilbert could be found tending to his lawn, gardens, and raspberry patches. He happily and generously shared the garden produce with family, friends, and neighbors.
Survived by his children, Karon (James) Kolles, Ronald (Teresa) Weber, and Mark (Lisa) Weber; 7 grandchildren, Brent, Matthew (Karen), John (Ashley), Rochelle (Alwyn), Janelle (Alex), Brad and Erica (Tommy); 8 great-grandchildren, Heidi, Nathan, Adelynn, Ellie, Leo, Jack, Fletcher and Henry. Also survived by sister-in-laws, Alma Devine, Donna Replogle, Carol (Dan) Briles, Inge Greeninger and Celine Greeninger.
Preceded in death by his wife, LaVerne; parents, Charles and Henrietta Weber; siblings, Pearl, Agnes and Richard.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Gilbert will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11 A.M. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church (7025 Halifax Ave N.) with visitation one-hour prior. Inurnment at St. Walburga Cemetery in Fletcher, MN

Evans-Nordby funeral chapel in Osseo, MN handled my husband’s cremation and Celebration of Life service in July of 2023. I can’t say enough positive things about all aspects of my interactions with them. They reached out to help every step of the way—from planning the Celebration of Life service, the service itself, and after care contact. Brittney was the person I primarily worked with. She was kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, organized, and had great communication skills, which greatly helped in reducing my stress level. I plan to contact Evans-Nordby soon to pre-plan my own final arrangements.
