Gloria passed away at the age of 90 on July 21, 2021 at St. Therese at Oxbow Lake in Brooklyn Parksurrounded by loved ones.
Gloria Blossom Voeltz was born on May 25, 1931 at home in Lafayette, Minnesota to Oscar and Selma (Willander) Lindquist. She was a graduate of St. Peter High School Class of 1949. She continued her education and graduated from Mankato State. Following graduation she taught elementary education in Mahtomedi and South Minneapolis.
On August 27, 1955, Gloria was united in marriage to Charles Russell Voeltz. In 1959 they purchased a home in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota where Gloria lived until April of this year.
Gloria was involved in various church groups and a member of Victory Lutheran Church and Faith Lilac Way Lutheran Church. She delivered Meals On Wheels in Minneapolis for 35 years and several additional years in the Robbinsdale, Crystal, New Hope area.
Gloria loved to talk to everyone, she could strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere. She had a talent for finding out what was going on in other's lives. She loved to travel the United States with her children. She took trips to California, Door County Wisconsin, Florida and several National Parks out west. Gloria loved to read, she was well known at the Barnes and Noble in Maple Grove. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gloria is survived by her children, Nancy (Paul) Hilstrom, David (Sue) Voeltz, and Sandy (Jeff) Hanneman; grandchildren, Nikki (Brian), Brandon (Emily), Lexie, and Laynie; great grandsons, Tyler, Wesley & Vincent; great granddaughters, Avery, Afton & Allie; and other relatives and friends.
Gloria is preceded in death by her Husband, Charles, parents Oscar and Selma Lindquist, Sisters, Rosalie Lindquest, Joyce Lindquist, Hope Spangenberg, Sylvia Kuenzel; Brothers, Vincent Lindquist, Waldemer Lindquist; Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Stanley Spangenberg, Lenore Lindquist, Dennis Kuenzel, Philippa Lindquist, Donna Clark, Truman Clark; Special friends Gerry Dorphy and Diane Carlson.
