Gwen Klaesges, age 85, passed on November 2nd peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Gwen married the love of her life, Jack, on September 26th 1959. Their Great and Holy Adventure began with 7 children, while living in multiple states, and continued to grow with 25 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren over their 62 years. Gwen’s dream came true with her big family and then came more than she could imagine. The family would travel across the US to visit family, many National and State Parks, Historical sites and Disney World. The car trips always included a daily saying of the rosary. As the family got older other travels began including exploring God’s creations abroad to Canada, Italy, Israel, Australia, Germany, & Austria. Everywhere they explored, they both were in awe of the wonders and drew closer to each other and God along the journey.
She had a passion for loving God, her family and all those around her. All who interacted with her felt her overflowing love. Her motto, “the more the merrier” was seen at every holiday meal, often finding additional guests welcomed into the chaos. From her warmth, smile, hospitality, and desire to serve others, she shared her life with others; loving people in a way that looked past faults and failures, seeing the spark of God in everyone. She was optimistic, kind, gentle, and a sweet soul that was full of joy and love during all seasons of life.
Gwen loved serving at her church getting involved in facilitating religion classes in her home for 9th graders, mentoring engaged couples, daily mass, being part of the funeral ministry, counting with the Monday group and many other things …
Even as her neuropathy and the pain got worse and kept her from doing things she loved, she often had a smile and encouraging words for those who came to visit. She was a mighty prayer warrior for so many. She loved, danced, biked, hiked, baked, served, smiled and laughed her way through life. Her presence is deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 62 years, Jack, and brother Conrad. Gwen is survived by her children, Anita (Greg) Johnson, Debbie Mahoney, Ramona (George) Anderson, Andrew (Chrissy) Klaesges, Kathren Klaesges (Ted), Suzanne (Ken) Hitter, Jerome (Lisa) Klaesges, and their 25 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Favoured Hospice for their loving care of Gwen.

I just can't say enough about the help we received in planning my husband's funeral at the Osseo Evans Nordby funeral home. It was a very difficult time and they were so caring, sensitive, helpful and very organized in making the funeral go smoothly. The funeral home in Osseo felt so welcoming and comfortable also. Tina was extremely helpful in guiding our family with planning the funeral and went out of her way in finding the right memorial folder for my husband. I would highly recommend them. Thank you all.
