Obituary for Mary Diane Larson

Mary Diane Larson, age 71, of Maple Grove, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2017.

Mary received a degree in Education from the University of Minnesota. She spent 33 years teaching in the Robbinsdale School District, one of the last schools being Forest Elementary in Crystal, MN. She was dedicated to her students and to her fellow educators. She was a person who really cared. It took a number of years for her to fully retire because she would always fill in when needed. Mary was always willing to help in anyway she could. She was respected and loved by all.
Mary was never one for the limelight, but she certainly was one of the brightest stars. She touched so many lives. Her passing is a great loss to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Danna and Marie Felix.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dale; son, Brent(Stephanie) Larson; her grandchildren Tiegan and Sophia Larson; her sister, Judy Trutwin; and her brother, Dennis(Susan) Felix.

A memorial gathering will be held 4-7 PM Thursday, February 16, 2017, at

Evans-Nordby funeral chapel in Osseo, MN handled my husband’s cremation and Celebration of Life service in July of 2023. I can’t say enough positive things about all aspects of my interactions with them. They reached out to help every step of the way—from planning the Celebration of Life service, the service itself, and after care contact. Brittney was the person I primarily worked with. She was kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, organized, and had great communication skills, which greatly helped in reducing my stress level. I plan to contact Evans-Nordby soon to pre-plan my own final arrangements.
