Griswold, Richard John (Dick), age 87 of Brooklyn Center passed away peacefully on August 26, 2017. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean; children, Scott, Robert (Lori), and Christie (Christopher) Skogman; grandsons, Matthew, Adam, and Benjamin; great-granddaughter, Avri, and many other relatives and friends. Richard graduated from the U of MN and then enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for Burroughs/Unisys for 35 years where he made many lifelong friends. He was a loving, caring, and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He had a passion for the outdoors and loved spending time with family and friends at his cabin on Big Sandy Lake. He will be truly missed by everyone he has touched with his warm smile, great sense of humor and incredible generosity. Funeral service 6 PM Tuesday, September 5th at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center. Visitation 5-6 PM. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery 2 PM, September 12th, Assembly Lane #5. Food will be served immediately following service.

Our son recently passed away and of course you never expect to have to deal with this for your children so my wife and I were not only devastated but didn’t know what to do or where to turn next. We met with her the next day and she went through all the aspects of what we were to expect in the coming days, weeks, then months ahead.
