Bob Miller, 76, of Maple Grove, MN and Scottsdale, AZ, died Sunday, the 30th of June, at home with family after battling cancer.
He was born in 1942 in Ionia, Iowa, to Nick and Dorothy Miller, and was the youngest of 6 children. He met his wife, Sue Ann Burke, in high school when she asked him to the Sadie Hawkins dance and were married in 1963. He attended Loras College and the University of Iowa where he studied Math and Psychology and graduated in 1965.
His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him through the years. Bob was blessed with a large and loving family. He was a man of faith and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Bob had a successful career as a financial executive. At the age of 26, he was the youngest broker hired at Merrill Lynch sparking his passion for following the stock market. In a career shift, he worked as a financial advisor for Cargill, Fleet Boston, and Met Life Capital, which was acquired by GE Capital, where he retired from in 1998.
Following his retirement, his long-term home on Weaver Lake in Maple Grove, Minnesota was his place of residence in the summer, while his winter home, Terravita, was located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Bob loved to golf and sail and followed his passions across the country. From sailing on the Pacific Ocean, to golfing along the coasts of Florida and California, and playing his favorite home-town courses at Rush Creek in Maple Grove, Fox Hollow in St. Michael and courses in Scottsdale.
He is survived by his wife, Sue, of 56 years; his 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren:

sisters, Leota Burns and Laura (Bob) Burns; and many loving nieces and nephews, among other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parent;, sisters, Lucille Brown and Doris Miller, and brother, Francis (Sonny) Miller.
