Robert A. "Bob" Rosovitz
age 57, Champlin, MN.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bob Rosovitz, who died unexpectedly from a cardiac event on Saturday, March 1st. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Bob moved with his family to Minnetonka, MN at the age of 4, where he grew up with his older and younger sisters.
Bob spent his childhood outdoors, playing with Tonka trucks, sliding down the hill in his backyard, biking, and many hours fishing with his dad in nearby lakes. He met Diane, the love of his life, through a mutual friend. Several years later a friendship started through a single call that grew into dating. They were married in February of 2007 during a memorable snowstorm that brought 16 inches of snow and freezing temperatures—a wedding to remember. There was so much snow that Bob carried Diane up the driveway the next morning.
Bob was an outdoorsman at heart. He loved fishing with his dad, friends, and Diane when he could coax her to join. He was always eager to discuss fishing strategies with his nephews and others, so that they could catch more fish. An avid hunter and excellent marksman, Bob enjoyed both firearm and bow hunting. Time spent with Diane and parents, Jerry and Carol, preparing for deer hunting weekends, was especially cherished. Bob and Diane shared their love of the outdoors through many, many walks, bike rides, and several hiking adventures in northern Minnneosta.
A talented gardener, Bob loved sharing his bountiful harvest with neighbors, family, and friends. He started his plants from seed each year, kept track of what he liked best, and canned so that he and Diane could enjoy the fruits of his labor during the winter. Bob was an adventurous and impressive cook, often experimenting with new recipes, especially with fish, venison, and the vegetables he grew.
Bob's quick wit and teasing nature, always delivered with a devilish grin, were well-loved by all who knew him. He was full of stories at family gatherings and with friends. Knowledgeable in many areas, Bob was always ready with pragmatic advice and suggestions to fix any problem. He had impressive handyman skills that he used on his own home improvements and to help friends and family which he would do at the drop of a hat.
We will miss his great smile, sparkling blue eyes, and zest for life.
Bob is survived by his best friend and wife of 18 years, Diane; his mother, Carol; his sisters, Janet (Scott) Swedal and MJ Rosovitz; his nephews, Nick and Carter Swedal; and dog Reggie, as well as many relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry.
