Obituary for Robert E. "Bob" Huber

Robert E. “Bob” Huber, loving husband, father and grandfather, age 89, died peacefully on June 30, 2020 of heart disease and COPD. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 62 years, Marlene; children, Kathy (Eric) Weinshel, Tom (Marlys) Huber, Sue (Jon) Fritz, and John Huber. Bob is survived by 10 grandchildren, Ben, and Sarah Weinshel, Katelyn, Michael, Nathan, Matthew (Eleanor), and Rachel Huber, Anna Fritz, Evan, and Kayli Huber. Preceded in death by brother, Frank Huber, and sister, Phoebe Nosker.

Bob grew up in north Minneapolis, graduating from Patrick Henry High School in 1949. After proudly serving in the USMC, he returned to Minneapolis, met Marlene, and they married in 1957. Bob worked as a printing pressman at the StarTribune for 32 years. They raised their family in Brooklyn Center, where he was a Scout leader for many years, a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus. After retirement, he kept busy with woodworking projects, delivering Meals on Wheels for CEAP for over 12 years, keeping the lawn and garden green, traveling, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a kind person, with a great sense of humor, who above all was devoted to his family. Special thanks to the caring staff at St. Therese Oxbow Lake.

Private interment and family gathering. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to CEAP, ceap.org, Osseo Area Retired Educators Scholarship fund (O.A.R.E), or the charity of your choice.

I highly recommend the team at Evans Nordby. This past weekend, they assisted as we buried my mom. Twelve years ago, they assisted as we buried my dad. Brittney and the staff are so comforting, easy to work with and compassionate. They make every decision simple, and the whole process as painless as possible. I am so happy that we chose this funeral home, and encourage you to consider using them in your time of need.
