Obituary for Robert Stricker
Stricker, Robert “Bob” H., 87, a long term resident of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, died unexpectedly on January 9, 2021. Bob was born on January 13, 1933, in Moorhead, MN, and raised in Dilworth, MN. Following high school graduation, Bob enlisted in the Navy and spent the majority of his four years of service aboard the USS FURSE. After his honorable discharge, Bob spent over 33 years working at Northern Pump/FMC in Fridley, Minnesota, while also taking on part time work to support his growing family. Along with his strong work ethic, he lived a very full life enjoying the outdoors and getting together with family and friends. He forged meaningful friendships wherever he went. When family or friends needed help fixing/installing/building, he was there. He was our Mr. Fix-it. Bob’s motto was “family first” and we knew it.
Bob is survived by his loving children, Steve (Cindy), David (Judy), Debbie (Mark) Fiereck and Brenda (Ron) Brostrom. He was beloved by his grandchildren, Jill (Scott), Justin (Randi), Jacob, Sarah, John, Adam (Christina), Kristen (Ryan), Nolan (Stephanie), Trishia (Chad), Heather (Andrew), and Emily (Brett). 24 great grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, brother Fred, sister-in-law Carolyn, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 65 years, Charlotte, his parents, Fred Sr. and Mary, and sister Marijean.
Visitation from 9-12:30PM, SAT 2/6, by appointment at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center. Please call the funeral home at 763-533-3000 to reserve a ½ hour time period. Private family service with interment at Mound Cemetery.

Our son recently passed away and of course you never expect to have to deal with this for your children so my wife and I were not only devastated but didn’t know what to do or where to turn next. Evans-Nordby was recommended to us by our Priest and I’m so glad he did. From the moment I talked to Tina on the phone I could tell we were in good hands as she took care of every detail. We met with her the next day and she went through all the aspects of what we were to expect in the coming days, weeks, then months ahead. Every employee we had contact with at Evans-Nordby was kind, compassionate and extremely professional. Thanks Tina and to all at Evans-Nordby for making an unbearable experience at least tolerable.
