Obituary for Shellie Rene Hovey

Shellie was born to Dennis and Susan Hasz on April 27, 1965, in Minneapolis, MN. Shellie grew up on a farm, with her sisters, Lauri and Kimberly, in Ellendale, North Dakota. In high school she was a good student while also enjoying dancing, listening to music, playing piano, and hanging out with her friends. Shellie graduated from Ellendale High School in 1983. She studied at Rasmussen College and Interstate Business College. She enjoyed working in the medical industry.

Shellie and Dean Hovey married twenty-two years ago. They welcomed the birth of their son, Evan, in 2000 and he has been the delight of both Shellie and Dean’s life. Shellie also loved animals, movies, music, and most of all …Her Family!!

On Friday, April 8, 2022, Shellie passed away peacefully in her home.

Shellie was preceded in death by her grandparents; father, Dennis; sister-in-law, Jane, brother-in-law, Dwayne; and father-in-law, Allen.

She is survived by her husband, Dean, son, Evan; stepdaughter, Tiffany; mother, Susan Hasz; sisters, Lauri (Scott) Uecker and Kimberly (Wade) Kemmet; sister-in-law, Jan Keehn; nieces and nephew Jennifer and Kirk Glynn, Samantha Hustoft, Sydnie Hustoft, Olivia Hustoft, Taylor Kemmet, Riley Kemmet, and Chase Kemmet; Aunt Nancy and Uncle Don Gilberg; cousins, Lisa and Glen Lapham, Tom and Lori Mattheis, Allison and Troy Rademacher, Naomi Ludeman, Joann Yost and Hope Paulson, Jan Curry and so many other loving family members.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 4PM at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 2nd Street NE, Osseo. Visitation from 2-4PM.

In lieu of flowers, her family hopes you donate to your local animal shelter or adopt a pet.
