Age 83, of Maple Grove, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 2,2023.
Terry received his Bachelor of Science degree in Soil Science from North Dakota State University in 1962, his Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from North Dakota State University in 1964 and his Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University in 1969. Terry performed research in economic growth, development, and trade, working on numerous projects that took him around the globe to places such as Kazakhstan and Morocco. Terry was a long-time professor at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. His work led to countless contributions to publications, and he even received numerous awards for his work as a researcher and educator. These included an AAEA Award for Professional Excellence, Quality of Communications, 2000 Policy Reform in American Agriculture: Analysis and Prognosis, the University of Minnesota’s 2008-09 Award for Outstanding Contributions to Post Baccalaureate, Graduate, and Professional Education, bestowing the title of “Distinguished Professor”, the American Agricultural Economics’ Association Distinguished Graduate Teaching Award in 2012, and the 2014 award for Global Engagement from the University of Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by parents, Leo & Ethel Roe.
Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; children, Mark (Nancy), and Seth (Meleah); grandchildren, Jack, Jane, Dustin, Tristan, Cheyenne, and Chloe; siblings, Doyle & Sherri; as well as other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 11AM at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7180 Hemlock Lane North, Maple Grove. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass.

It is a place of compassion, sincerity, professionalism, and staff who go above and beyond their call of duty. Our family has sadly used both chapels over the past months. The caring did not stop after the services. They offer their continued compassion to adults and children. With grateful hearts thank you.
