Veronica M. McCormick, daughter of Nicholas and Virginia (Gessert) Waltz, was born on June 24, 1956 in Canby, MN. She attended St. Peter Catholic School, Canby High School and Canby Vocational Technical College and got her GED/Certificate in Food Service. After school she lived in Milbank, SD; Rapid City, SD; Iowa City, IA and Cedar Rapids, IA before moving to Minneapolis, MN.
Veronica worked in the restaurant industry, working with her brother Mike for many years and managing restaurants in the Iowa City area. She moved to Minnesota in 2002 and lived with her sister, Sharon, till her death.
She loved playing cards, quilting, crocheting, playing games on her phone, iPad and enjoyed drinking her coffee and eating sweets and candy. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Therese’s Nursing Home in New Hope, MN, getting to know the residents, going out for outings and monthly get togethers with co-workers. Also volunteered making quilts for CEAP.
Veronica passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis, MN at the age of 63. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary, and nephew Christopher.
She is survived by her 2 children, Matt and Katie; siblings Teresa (Ed) Lenertz of Brooklyn Park, MN; Ed Waltz of Marshall, MN; Ralph (Betty) Waltz of New Ulm, MN; Mike (Vicki) Waltz of Traverse City, MI; Eva Hernandez of Columbia, MD; Sharon Waltz of Brooklyn Park, MN; Mark (Lori) Waltz of Gaylord, MN; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends.
She will be truly missed by all.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 20th at 10:30AM at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 9100 93rd Ave N, Brooklyn Park, with visitation held one hour prior to mass.

I just can't say enough about the help we received in planning my husband's funeral at the Osseo Evans Nordby funeral home. It was a very difficult time and they were so caring, sensitive, helpful and very organized in making the funeral go smoothly. The funeral home in Osseo felt so welcoming and comfortable also.
