Obituary for Wilbur O. Dittmar

Wilbur O. Dittmar, 95, born October 20, 1924 grew up in Young America, Minnesota. He was the second of the five children of Otto and Emma Dittmar. He entered the US Navy during WWII at the age of 18, becoming an Aviation Machinist Mate First, AD1. He schooled at Dunwoody and was offered an auto mechanics teaching job but chose to work for Chrysler Corporation as a Field Instructor. He retired from Chrysler Corporation after 16 years. Wilbur currently resided in Brooklyn Center and passed away August 7, 2020. He was a longtime resident of Hopkins.

Preceded in death by wife, Alice; children, Russell and Rita; brothers, Milton and Martin; and sisters, Christine and June.

Survived by his significant other, Phyllis Christenson her family, nieces and nephews.

Memorials preferred to Zion Lutheran Church of Hopkins, MN.

Memorial Service and Interment/Graveside Service 1 PM on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery (Assembly Area #2).
