William Zachman, known to friends as “Willie,” passed away suddenly on August 29, 2018, at the age of 73.
A lifetime resident of Rogers, Minnesota, Willie met and married his wife, Shirley, and together they raised three children: Shannon, Jayme, and Jason. Working out of his home-based machine shop, Willie spent the majority of his career as a very talented, self-employed machinist.
Willie proudly served his community as a member of the Rogers Lions Club. He was a kind and generous friend and neighbor and passionate supporter of countless local blood drives.
Willie enjoyed the outdoors – gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels, and spending time at his cabin on Ida Lake. He took pleasure in being with family and friends, especially his grandchildren, who held a most special place in his heart.
Willie was preceded in death by parents Arthur and Eleanore (Eull) Zachman; and brother-in-laws Raymond Dahlheimer and David Kroll. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley (Scherr); children Shannon (David) Hutton, Jayme (Lloyd) Hilgart, Jr., and Jason (Megan) Zachman; grandchildren Holden, Avery, Maia, Addison, Samuel, and Caroline; sisters Mary Lou Dahlheimer, Betty (Robert) Robideau, and Marlene Kroll and many more beloved family members and treasured friends.

I highly recommend the team at Evans Nordby. This past weekend, they assisted as we buried my mom. Twelve years ago, they assisted as we buried my dad. Brittney and the staff are so comforting, easy to work with and compassionate. They make every decision simple, and the whole process as painless as possible. I am so happy that we chose this funeral home, and encourage you to consider using them in your time of need.
